So Others Might Eat

Washington, DC, United States

Father John Adams is president of So Others Might Eat (SOME), an interfaith organization in Washington, D.C. that serves the homeless and people in need.

Father John has directed SOME for 29 years, and under his leadership, the organization has grown from a soup kitchen with one employee to an organization serving more than 800 meals a day, offering a health clinic, dental services, job training, addiction treatment, counseling and affordable housing to those in need, including the elderly and people with mental illnesses.

Today, SOME has a staff of 250 employees and several thousand volunteers. Father John ensures the staff and volunteers live by SOME's mission of restoring hope and dignity one person at a time.
